Memorials

Memorials are available for relatives and friends to purchase to enable them to perpetuate the memory of loved ones. These memorials vary by cemetery.

Available at Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Wilmslow Cemeteries

Wooden Memorial Seats

A memorial seat with an inscribed plaque, or timber routed inscription. Seats located in the Garden of Remembrance can have cremated remains placed near.

Granite Memorial Bench

A memorial bench inscribed with inscription of your choice.

Wall of Remembrance

Cremated remains can be buried in individual plots at the foot of the wall and an inscription placed on the copingstone on the top. Two caskets of cremated remains can be buried in each plot.

Habitat Boxes­

Boxes can be leased for 3, 6 or 10 years.

Columbaria/Sanctums

Cremated remains can be placed in the chamber behind the inscribed tablet. These are leased for a period of 25 years

Available at Coppenhall, Crewe, Nantwich and Weston Cemeteries

Bird/Bat Boxes

Habitat boxes available for the life of the box to encourage new life into the cemeteries.

Columbaria/Sanctums

Cremated remains can be placed in the chamber behind the inscribed tablet. These are leased for a period of 25 years.

Granite Memorial Seats

These seats are available in grey.

Book of Remembrance

A Book of Memory with a page of every day of the year is displayed in a special case in the Room of Remembrance at the Crematorium.

Children’s Book of Remembrance

A book of Memory with pages dedicated to children is displayed in a special glass case in the Book of Remembrance room at the Crematorium.

Leather Recordia Panels

The leather panel memorials are on display in the Room of Remembrance for a period of ten years.

Book Plaque

The granite plaques are mounted onto the granite book, which is situated in the Garden of Remembrance. These plaques are purchased for a period of ten years.

Memorial Vase and Tablet

The white marble vase has a black granite tablet with a gold inscription of up to 80 letters. These can be purchased for either five or year years.

Granite Boulder

Situated in the Rose Garden Section of the Cemetery. These Yorkshire boulders leave ample room for the painted inscription. These are purchased for a period of ten years.

Graves are also available for cremated remains.

Book of Remembrance

A Book of Memory with a page of every day of the year is displayed in a special case in the Room of Remembrance at the Crematorium.

Memorial Cards and Miniature Books

Cards or miniature books of entries from the Book of Remembrance.

Children's Books of Remembrance

A Book of Memory with a page of every day of the year dedicated to children is displayed in a special case in the Room of Remembrance at the Crematorium.

Leather Panel Memorials

The leather panel memorials are on display in the Room of Remembrance for a period of ten years with an option to renew.

Tower with Plaque and Posy Holder

This memorial is located in the centre if the Formal Garden of Remembrance and can be leased for 10 years. The plaque will take an inscription of up to 33 letters, which is included in the fee. This memorial is designed for use with the strewing of cremated remains.

Memorial Kerbstone with Plaque and Vase

These kerbstones are placed around the beds in the Formal Garden of Remembrance. Rights of burial can be purchased for 100 years and an inscription of up to 55 letters is included in the fee. Cremated remains can be placed in the chamber under the kerbstone.

Granite Memorial Kerbstone

These kerbstones are in the new memorial area. They can be leased for ten years and an inscription of up to 45 letters is included in the fee. Cremated remains can be interred in the ground in front of the kerbstone.

Columbaria/Sanctums

Cremated remains can be placed in the chamber behind the inscribed tablet. These are leased for a period of 25 years

To renew memorials at the end of the leasing period contact the Macclesfield Cemetery Office. This department WILL NOT inform relatives of the expiry date. Graves are also available for cremated remains.

Sandbach Memorials

All memorials installed in the above cemeteries require approval before they can be installed. Applications to install a memorial, to add or alter any inscription, or to replace, restore or remove memorials must be submitted on the appropriate memorial application form for approval. When a memorial is ordered through a memorial mason they will submit the application on your behalf.

Other Memorials (Congleton & Sandbach Cemeteries)

A limited number of memorial seats, trees and plaques are permitted within the cemeteries. Orbitas will specify, supply and install all seats and plaques and will supply, plant and establish for a 12 month period all trees. Other types of memorialisation will only be considered in special circumstances.
